The City of Beaumont is a vibrant and growing community, full of rich history and rural charm. Since it was originally settled in the mid-1800s as a stop along the Southern Pacific Railroad, people were drawn to the beautiful mountain views, crisp air, and abundance of orchards. After incorporation on November 18, 1912, the city has continued to grow and flourish as one of the State of California’s fastest growing Cities.

With easy access to the desert, mountains and beaches, the City of Beaumont offers residents and visitors a whole host of amenities, which make Beaumont a great place to call home. Today, residents enjoy a way of life that includes not only the classic characteristics of a small town, but house all the conveniences of a dynamic suburban environment. From our parks, recreation activities, to the focus on public safety, as well as maintaining responsible development and planning infrastructure for future growth, we continue to make Beaumont a place where we love to live, work and play.

The City of Beaumont has taken bold steps to chart the City’s future into the middle of the 21st century. These bold steps include neighborhood revitalization, expanding opportunities for economic development, continuing to renovate and expand park amenities and public safety facilities. As well as balancing future growth with environmental protection to address impacts of climate change and improve public health and sustainability. As we move into the future and life for California residents continues to evolve with more urban sprawl and work-remote opportunities, we continue to plan for and anticipate growth for our community…while still maintaining a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere characterized by safe neighborhoods, clean streets, and our small-town feel. Beaumont is A City, Elevated, now and in the years to come.
