SUMMARY:James Garner’s Tribute to Johnny Cash
DESCRIPTION:A show that walks the line! \nFor the past 16 years\, Garner and his band have faithfully recreated Cash’s biggest hits with stunning accuracy in this not-to-be-missed musical event. This world-class tribute to the ‘Man in Black’ has been featured live in concert on PBS stations\, and has even performed at Folsom and San Quentin Prisons where Johnny Cash recorded his biggest albums. The show is a fun\, toe-tapping trip down memory lane honoring Cash’s life and music\, all set to his signature boom-chicka-boom sound. Enjoy all the hits of the Man in Black – “Folsom Prison Blues\,” “Ring of Fire\,” “I Walk the Line\,” and more! \nGarner and his band have performed more than 600 professional shows\, including a special concert at Folsom State Prison in 2008 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Cash’s infamous live album recorded behind prison walls. Gene Beley\, one of two reporters in Cash’s entourage at the historic 1968 Folsom Prison concert\, says this about Garner and his show: \n“Garner and his band give concertgoers their money’s worth\,” says Beley. “This act will not disappoint the people who wish to resurrect that classic Johnny Cash voice and rhythm.” \nIn addition to performing across the United States\, Garner’s group has released three full-length albums\, making them the most recorded and published Johnny Cash tribute show in the nation. For Garner\, the love of Johnny Cash music started at an early age. \n“I started listening to Johnny Cash music when I was about 12 years old\,” said Garner. “The first song I heard by him was ‘Don’t Take Your Guns to Town’ and I was hooked. A few years later\, I saw the Man in Black in concert and got to meet him backstage following the show. Shaking hands with Johnny Cash is something I’ll never forget.” \n Show members \nJames Garner – Lead vocals\, rhythm guitar \nReggie Gay – Lead guitar\, vocals \nChris Akin– Bass\, vocals \nNick Auriemmo – Drums \nWebsite & Social Media \nwww.CashTribute.net \nFacebook: @JohnnyCashTributeShow \nTwitter: @CashTribute \nInstagram: @CashTribute \nLOCATION: YUCAIPA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER | INDOOR THEATER \nREGARDING STUBHUB / VIVID SEATS / OTHER THIRD-PARTY RESELLERS \nThe Yucaipa Performing Arts Center has NO association with StubHub\, Vivid Seats\, or any third-party resellers. DESCRIPTION:JOHN OATESAn evening of Songs & StoriesSunday\, April 28th\, 2024\nJohn Oates is cofounder of the iconic music creators Hall & Oates\, as well as an  accomplished solo artist. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame\, The American  Songwriters Hall of Fame\, recipient of the prestigious BMI Icon Award as well as numerous American Music\, MTV awards\, and multiple Grammy nominations. \nSince forming his creative partnership with Daryl Hall in the early 1970s\, they have gone  on to record 21 albums\, which have sold over 80 million units\, making them the most successful duo in rock history. They have scored 10 number one records\, over 20 Top 40 hits\, and have toured the world for decades. Their involvement in the original “Live Aid” concert and the groundbreaking “We Are The World” charity recording have further established them as  legendary artists\, who have personally and through their music\, stood the test of time. \nSince embarking on a solo career in 1999\, John has recorded seven solo albums: Phu Phunk Shui/ 1000 Miles of Life/ Mississippi Mile/ The Bluesville Sessions/ Good Road To Follow/ Arkansas and Live from Nashville with the Good Road Band. In addition\, his 2017 autobiography “Change of Season” released by St. Martin’s press\, became an Amazon best seller. \nIn 2023 he released a series of new original digital singles distributed by “The Orchard” in a wide variety of eclectic styles as well as penning another series of songs for the feature film “Gringa”. His most recent recording project is titled “Folk-esque” and is scheduled for release in early 2024. He is currently performing an intimate series of solo acoustic shows called an “Evening of Songs and Stories” in America and around the world. \nIn 2021\, John and his wife Aimee partnered with the streaming broadcast service  NugsTV and co-producer Drive Entertainment Group to create a virtual celebration of stories  and songs called “OATES SONG FEST 7908“. Inspired by a live series of shows that they  created in 2010 at the historic Wheeler Opera House in Aspen\, CO. \n“OATES SONG FEST 7908” became a free streaming concert with all donations and  proceeds going to FEEDINGAMERICA.ORG. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives\, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words\, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing\, pout-inducing\, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.
