DESCRIPTION:The 29th annual Palm Springs International ShortFest returns to the Camelot Theatres (Palm Springs Cultural Center) from June 20-26. The festival will screen 50 curated programs showcasing 299 films including 53 World Premieres\, 10 International Premieres\, 33 North American Premieres and 18 U.S. Premieres. Repeat screenings of the winners will be shown closing night and on June 26th. Additionally\, a virtual Best of the Festival will run from July 7-13\, featuring a collection of ShortFest’s juried award winners available to stream at a packaged price online. More than 6\,000 short films from 129 countries were submitted. The complete line-up and schedule will be available on June 1st at www.psfilmfest.org and a list of films are included at the end of the release.

DESCRIPTION:San Bernardino County Museum announces the 2023 dates for the popular Cosmic Nights astronomy-themed evening events in partnership with the San Bernardino Valley Amateur Astronomers (SBVAA)\, and at the Victor Valley Museum\, the museum’s branch in Apple Valley\, in partnership with the High Desert Astronomical Society (HiDAS). \nThe evenings feature telescope viewing and an opportunity to discuss astronomy with telescope operators. Visitors are also encouraged to bring binoculars or set up their own telescopes. The events take place outdoors and visitors are advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. DESCRIPTION:The Pomona Concert Band hosts its 76th Annual Summer Concert Series starting July 13th to be held at G. Stanton Selby Bandshell in Ganesha Park\, behind the Community Center building\, starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evenings through August 31st.  The concerts will feature a wide range of music from Patriotic\, Broadway\, Popular to Classical.  The concerts are FREE to the public\, so come\, bring a picnic basket or eat from our concession stand\, and enjoy an evening of music.  Please see our Newsletter for details and check our Calendar for any future scheduled events.  Thank you!\n—– \nThe Pomona Concert Band was organized in November of 1947 by G. Stanton Selby.  Since that time\, the Band has become an important part of all music activities in Pomona.  The Band performs at major civic events\, gives concerts for neighboring cities\, and presents a summer series of nine weekly concerts in Ganesha Park at the G. Stanton Selby Bandshell.  All performances are free to the public. \nThe Band rehearses and performs throughout the year\, and is built basically on adult membership.  However\, outstanding high school and college-age musicians are invited to audition for membership.  The Band is under the direction of Linda W. Taylor\, Conductor and Musical Director\, along with Assistant Directors Dr. Jorge Garcia and Kerry Kline.  Band members come from Pomona and more than twenty nearby communities to make music together.  You are welcome to visit our rehearsals on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 PM at the Community Center in Ganesha Park\, 1575 N.
